FBI Director James Comey has been fired, according to the White House.
“Today, President Donald J. Trump informed FBI Director James Comey that he has been terminated and removed from office,” the White House statement reads.
“President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions,” the statement said.
Make of that what you will.

The problem: Much of what Comey said about this was inaccurate. Now the FBI is trying to figure out what to do about it. FBI officials have privately acknowledged that Comey misstated what Abedin did and what the FBI investigators found. On Monday, the FBI was said to be preparing to correct the record by sending a letter to Congress later this week. But that plan now appears on hold, with the bureau undecided about what to do.
ProPublica is reporting a story on the FBI’s handling of the Clinton emails and raised questions with government officials last week about possible inaccuracies in Comey’s statements about Abedin.
It could not be learned how the mistake occurred. The FBI and Abedin declined ProPublica’s requests for comment on the director’s misstatements.
And the Trump is committing felony after felony. Who is going to stop him?
On Monday, in the hours before former acting Attorney General Sally Yates’ testimony to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, the president engaged in a predictable tweet-storm, complete with an attack on the “fake news.” It’s entirely possible that one of those Monday morning tweets constituted felonious witness tampering. Here’s the tweet in question:
Ask Sally Yates, under oath, if she knows how classified information got into the newspapers soon after she explained it to W.H. Counsel.
Translation: That’s some really nice testimony ya got there, Yates — shame if something were to happen to it. And by “it,” I mean “you.”
So, I woke up this chilly morning where I valiantly tried to pretend that it was as hot as yesterday. Hubby asks me about the whereabouts of the cheque book. I tell him him that it was where he left it last. He wasn’t having that and proceeded to chastise me (shout). I can also shout and I knew with certainty that I hadn’t written a cheque recently.
I was infuriated that his sloppy ways had led to the loss of the cheque book and I stormed out of the house to buy cigarettes. As I opened my bag at the shop…

Came home and waved cheque book in front of surfer dude who had witnessed aforementioned domestic row. Threw the damn thing in front of hubby and told him that I had found it in his office.
Surfer dude and I were going out shopping  and he told me that we were acting like kids and that my brazen effort to lie to his father was not a good thing…
So, I bought Hubby dark chocolate, pistachio nuts, and made him a real old-fashioned sandwich.
I fessed up.
We have been laughing all day.
He knew the minute that I came back from the shop that I had found it in my bag.

I listened to pretty much all of the James Comey hearing today and I was sickened. And it wasn’t just mild nausea. Comey intentionally threw the election to Trump.
How on earth he felt he could justify going public about emails that he hadn’t even read and which eventually turned out to be a nothing burger as opposed to not revealing that he was also investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia was mind-blowing. Which of these investigations was the more serious? The American public should have been alerted to the Trump one as well. This was clearly a partisan act on Comey’s part.
Why did he feel that if he didn’t inform people about Hillary’s emails that it would be the “death of the FBI?” Would the GOP go after the FBI? He obviously trashed Hillary back in the summer to placate them. That was highly unprofessional. He succumbed to bullying by Chaffetz and the rogue NY FBI office. That was inexcusable.
I thought the Democratic senators were fantastic and asked very searching questions. Comey appeared to be uncomfortable with their line of questioning and seemed to have some of his ridiculous answers down pat. He’d obviously worked on them.
Yes, he cost Hillary the election and the US and the rest of the world have to live with the consequences of his actions.
