I haven’t posted in a long, long time. I was so sick of sideshow Donnie and his gang of thugs. I just thought that I had nothing more to add to the conversation so I shut up.
In the mean time, my darling Ali had to be put down. I broke my ribs just before Xmas and they took months to heal. I was cajoled then into getting a new rescue dog. Luna. She is actually hilarious. I now love her.
I’m heart sick over this damn virus.
I was due to go to Miami on the 15th of March and I thought to myself…this is damn fucking dangerous. I cancelled.
Here in Ireland, we did actually act with speed. We closed everything down very quickly. Everyone is observing the rules but sometimes the whole thing is so surreal that you forget shit. I went to the local shop today and had to be reminded to put on plastic gloves.
Anyway, if anyone is out there listening, I hope you’re healthy and being very careful.
Love you feckers.
I forgot to mention that I broke my glasses and lost a diamond from my engagement ring.
This week sucks.

Irish! Love you! Glad to hear you’re healthy and Ireland is being more sensible than the US. Don’t blame you from pulling back from the shit show. Our November election can’t come soon enough.
Hey Irish! So good to hear from you again. Sorry about your ribs and about Ali. But glad that you are healthy and that you have a functioning federal government.
I have good news and bad news – my younger daughter is engaged to be married! She was going wedding gown shopping next weekend, I was driving down and my older daughter was flying in from Chicago, but that has been postponed because of the pandemic. Both my daughters are still working – one from home and the other at the Navy Exchange. My SIL is working as well, as is my future SIL I am on furlough this month, but hopefully will be back at work in May.
My bad news is that I lost one of my cats – Friday, on February 25. She was 17, and went very quickly. The weekend before, she spent more time with me than she ever had, which pleased me, but I was too dumb to realize what was going on. After the weekend, she wouldn’t eat, so I made an appointment with the vet, but before I could get her there, she was gone, peacefully, at home.
Sorry to read about your kitty, Linda. It’s been 7 years since my 20 year old cat essentially passed away doing ‘hospice’ at home. Heartbreaking, but also a blessing. 4 years later my next door neighbor’s cat found us after our neighbor passed away – – a cat I had never met. She apparently went feral in the neighborhood for about 4 months and then came over to my house – – a dead ringer for the cat I lost, except about twice the size. What an unexpected gift!
Glad to hear of your unexpected gift. I am on furlough this month, so am able to spend more time with my other kitty, Shadow. He is getting over his confusion – first the loss of his “sister” Friday, and my being home so much.
So happy and surprised to see your post today. I always use your blog as my ‘go to’ to the Immoral Minority, just in case. Glad to read that your broken ribs have mended and that Luna is helping your broken heart to heal. You were the impetus for my sign-ups on Twitter and Instagram and I saw Luna’s photo. Ali’s antics and faithful spirit won’t be forgotten. Here in Washington State, I continue to work as an ‘essential worker’ in my very lonely workplace close to my home. Others are telecommuting. We’re a small City owned Retreat and Conference Center, so our robust Spring has been decimated. We’ve been closed from March 9 through May 4th – – a new closure date announced by the Governor on Thursday. Our business continues, however, as groups have rebooked into later in 2020 or ‘rolled over’ into 2021. In that regard, I get optimistic glimpses to offset all of this while I’m working. As you’ve read, the President is calling out our Governor and saying stoopid things about not getting equipment for us. Yesterday or today, Washington State gave back 400 ventilators to FEMA to send to New York, so we’re doing our part. Lots of hoarding of silly things going on and some stores like Costco have ridiculous wait lines with people seemingly panic buying. I go to a small local store about every 2 weeks, but I’m just buying for me. I hope and pray that coming out at the other end, Americans will have learned some valuable lessons about the role and function of government, the true necessities of life and our common humanity. I am ever grateful that, too date, tCovid-19 is the only thing we must face and there hasn’t been a double whammy of a natural disaster on top of all of this. My best wishes to you and your family. Hope your Mum is also doing well and hanging in there.
