Smoking Wars

CigaretteBurning-Step-4

Holy shit…  I  am a smoker. I am trying to book places in California that will allow me to smoke out doors. The last person I emailed said the smoke would drift over to  his property. So no – he gave up $1,000.

I’m taking my Febreze and they can all feck off.

Tumbleweed knows all about the intricacies of fooling the French. Oh la la.

    Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette
Puff, puff, puff and if you puff yourself to death
Tell Saint Peter at the golden gate
Oh, Lord, you hate to make him wait
    You gotta have another cigarette

  2. Since the state of CA is imposing a water ban, perhaps they’re fearful of an ash igniting the tinder dry state. Don’t forget to pack a suitcase of water !

Who can afford to smoke these days?

When I was in California last month it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be with regards to being a smoker. I smoked outside the whole time, but that is pretty much the norm anywhere anymore.

I always try and book a place with a garden or a balcony and I do mention that I am a smoker – but I have heard horror stories! Apparently Californians can smell the smoke for miles… Over the fence even!

The good news is that I have managed to book some places that allow smoking outdoors. I use Airbnb which is half the price of hotels. It’s fantastic.

In the Carolinas, smoking is still allowed outdoors many places, although some are totally smoke-free, even outside. And the places that allow smoking outside, have designated smoking areas.

I live in California (Del Mar) and we’ve become so accustomed to a smoke free environment that it is an actual shock to the system when I pass an outdoor smoker. I smoked for over 30 years and quit 10 years ago. You can quit too!
BTW, It’s been illegal to smoke even on the street in Del Mar for years.

I am going here for two days – San Luis Obispo. They started the whole no-smoking thing. I didn’t know that before I booked! Eek.

As long as you are stranded in the middle of nowhere without any stores or friends to borrow from…
