Sean Hannity has been the racist rancher’s top backer, and Fox and the GOP made him a cause. Now he’s their problem…
Cliven Bundy, the infamous welfare rancher, was holding forth at his Nevada homestead Wednesday, and apparently he had a lot to say about “the Negro.” Who could have guessed?
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he told a small group of people gathered to see him, which included Adam Nagourney of the New York Times. Bundy told of driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he continued. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”
Just what do you say to that? This racist old bastard has been sponging off the government for twenty years. How the hell are Hannity, Fox and the right wing going to respond to this?

From time to time, I enter stage right (wing) carrying with me facts backed up, not by a quote from a secondary source, a newspaper or blog, but from an original source such as statistics from a department of government, the text of a bill or a legitimate video, etc. Invariably, if no creative rebuttal is forthcoming, what happens is nothing. My comment is totally ignored.
I imagine Hannity is sitting somewhere with his fingers in his ears going “la, la, la.” It’s possible Fox will come up with an excuse for the inexcusable which they will then feed to him. My guess is it will be along the lines of, you’re missing the point. It doesn’t matter if you think Bundy is racist. This is about government overreach, not his personal views – or something to that effect.
I should add, I can’t bring myself to go and look at what is being said about this among the so called “patriots”. There’s only so much one can take.

Earlier this year, Klayman was indicted for failure to pay child support. Needless to say, this descended into a legal morass; an Ohio appellate court noted last month that Klayman had apparently engaged in “inappropriate behavior” with his children — something he has not denied — that he “repeatedly invok[ed] his Fifth Amendment rights, about whether he inappropriately touched the children,” and that “Klayman would not even answer the simple question regarding what he thought inappropriate touching was.” The court upheld a lower court’s ruling that Klayman be ordered to pay $325,000 of his ex-wife’s legal costs.

If this guy does not recognize the federal government why is he riding around on his horse, with his fat belly hanging over, carrying the American flag? One would think he would create his on flag.

Good point about Old Glory, which is the flag of the USA, which Bundy doesn’t recognize. He might claim to recognize the USA, just not the federal government, but that won’t wash with most people. The federal government is the government of the USA. So Bundy should just make up his own flag to wave about.
