What One Irish Senator Thought Of Trump’s Election And Ireland’s Response

Irish Senator Aodhan O’Riordain delivered a scathing speech on Nov. 10 in which he called President-elect Donald Trump a “fascist,” and slammed the Irish government for reaching out to Trump (video below).

According to the Independent.ie, O’Riordain was speaking to Ireland’s senate, the Seanad Eireann:

That needed to be said. Cowardice and political correctness has no place regarding the election of Trump.

    We should not have to say Bravo, Aodhan O’Riordain because his should be the response of the majority in the USA and every democratic country. Sadly, it is not – so Bravo, Aodhan O’Riordain and thank you!

    That was perfect! I hope he shamed every single person in a governing capacity, around the world and in this country. Every day Trump shows even more how unfit he is- it’s not about having a different policy from our own, but that he is unfit and incapable of leading the country.
