Well, well, well. The GOP must have their knickers in a twist by now. Their presumptive nominee has been exposed as a racist, a fraudster and a tax-dodger.
The shit has hit the fan. On the same day that Paul Ryan endorsed Trump, Hillary Clinton cut Trump off at the knees (h/t Moles). 🙂 He had no comeback and Ryan looked like a fool.
Trump’s tirade against the federal judge who is presiding over his Trump University scam case has caused many a closet GOP racist to feel the need to distance themselves from his remarks. You see the establishment thought they could control Trump. They were flat out wrong and they went ahead and unwillingly endorsed him BECAUSE OF THE PARTY. They just want to win. Remember the southern strategy? That is when Republicans bought into racism as a way to retain power. Right Mitch, you vile old reptile. You’re going to ignore Trump’s racism because the party of Lincoln wants to win the White House? Way to go you crusty old bugger. Your party has been promoting it for years. It’s nothing new.
As Josh Marshall says at TPM, when discussing polls…
The truth is these polls don’t tell us very much one way or another, other than as an explanation for why virtually the entire elite of the GOP willingly placed themselves in their current predicament. As I wrote over the weekend, GOP endorses are now facing the full force of what many the few genuine Republican NeverTrumpers were warning: Trump is mercurial and mentally unstable enough to do all manner of damage to Republican electoral prospects over the long and intense months of a general election campaign. And it’s only just June.
The racist right may have a rather large problem on their hands.
Suck it up cupcakes!
Trump having a meltdown?
You have got to read this diary over at Daily Kos.
When former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer interrupted the discussion to inform Trump that his own campaign had asked surrogates to stop talking about the lawsuit in an e-mail on Sunday, Trump repeatedly demanded to know who sent the memo, and immediately overruled his staff […]
“Are there any other stupid letters that were sent to you folks?” Trump said. “That’s one of the reasons I want to have this call, because you guys are getting sometimes stupid information from people that aren’t so smart.“
He’s talking about his staff! Yikes.
