Trump Protestors Shut Down Chicago Rally

Well I went to bed last night and woke up to hear about the rally in Chicago. It’s all rather shocking but not unexpected in view of the fact that Drumpf has been amping up the violence for quite a while now.

A Donald Trump rally in Chicago had to be called off on Friday evening amid scenes of violence and chaos unparalleled in the recent history of American political campaigning.

The scrapping of the Republican frontrunner’s appearance due to what his campaign cited as “safety concerns” led to uproar and fights inside the University of Illinois Chicago Pavilion and in the streets outside.

Scuffles broke out between Trump supporters, protesters and police, and a number of arrests were made, including of at least one reporter. As the mayhem took hold, Trump was reduced to complaining about the situation on the air, telling MSNBC: “It’s sad when you can’t have a rally. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?”

Free speech isn’t just for you Donald. If people don’t like what you’re saying, then they have the right to protest. The fact that violence seems to commonplace at the Trump rallies is however very unsettling and worrisome.

After the postponement was announced a Trump campaign statement said: “Mr Trump just arrived in Chicago and after meeting with law enforcement has determined that for the safety of all of the tens of thousands of people that have gathered in and around the arena, tonight’s rally will be postponed to another date.

“Thank you very much for your attendance and please go in peace.”

Despite Trump’s statement that he had consulted law enforcement, the Chicago police department emphasised it had no involvement in the decision.

There is a growing catalogue of violence at Trump events. In the past week alone an attack on a non-violent protester led to criminal charges against a Trump supporter, and Michelle Fields, a reporter for conservative website Breitbart, was allegedly assaulted by Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s campaign manager.

Trump’s rhetoric has done little to keep it in check. When the Republican frontrunner appeared in St Louis earlier on Friday, for an event that entailed more than 30 arrests, he complained: “Part of the problem and part of the reason it takes so long [to kick protesters out] is nobody wants to hurt each other any more.” Trump added: “There used to be consequences. There are none any more. These people are so bad for our country. You have no idea folks, you have no idea.”

That is exactly the same shite that Palin was spewing back in 2008. It was allowed to go unchecked because that is what most Republicans really felt. Now the GOP has a yuuuuge problem on its hands.

Palin is over on her shouty page, delighted with what she perceives as Trump’s success. She’s welcoming everyone on board the Trump train and bashing those who haven’t. She tore into Ted Cruz with a vengeance and called him a “half-term” senator, which is pretty fecking ironic.

I don’t know how this is all going to end  and I don’t have a good feeling about this eruption of violence. It will probably get worse. Trump, and Palin before him, and in fact the entire GOP have created a very scary Frankenstein who seems intent on devouring the Republican party. What happens next is anybody’s guess. Yikes.

Nothing says intelligence like arguing over whose sky fairy is the most bad ass.

Look up Batshit in the dictionary and her picture is there also too.

The ‘Heil Lady’ in the photo taken at last night’s Chicago rally has been clearly identified as Trump supporter Birgitt Peterson in the caption of the photo. But that didn’t stop some high-profile Trump supporters from taking the opportunity to substitute the name of a Bernie Sanders organizer for it, in order to excuse their own supporters’ despicable behavior.

After the picture above started making the rounds last night, some right-wingers online noticed that a Bernie volunteer had some generally similar features. Donald Trump’s miserable son picked it up and ran with it.

Wow, his supporters will stop at nothing. The ‘Heil Lady’ probably had relatives killed in WW2. Just what does it say about Trump and his supposed support of the vets when he is promoting that salute?

Kurt Bardella, Brietbart spokesman has resigned because Brietbart threw their own reporter, Michelle Fields, under the bus.

“When you’ve gone all in so much for a candidate, you know, when you have that kind of skin in the game, you don’t want to see that derailed,” Bardella explained. “I think it’s been very obvious in the coverage. I don’t think they’ve hidden that or they would dispute that. They’re very much pro-Trump, which is personally something i have an issue with. i’m not pro-Trump.”

“I think Donald Trump has been a disruptive force. You are seeing violence and it’s not just an isolated incident. It’s a pattern of behavior, whether it’s toward a reporter, a spectator, a supporter or opposition, nobody is safe. at what point does somebody draw the line and say enough is for that. Enough and take responsibility.”

It’s shameful that Breitbart News is willing to gaslight their own reporter in order to keep their special standing with Trump. And make no mistake, they do have a special relationship.

He should be, these things seldom end well. Someone will end up being badly injured, or worse, and Trump will be directly responsible.

        Yup.
George Wallace was hate spewing motherfucker just like Trump.
The parallels are eerily the same.

        Just sayin,Donald…
