Gone girl: Sarah Palin makes swift exit from Iowa as Trump get toppled by her friend Ted Cruz after claiming ‘polls are only good for strippers’ and accusing Cruz supporter of ‘huffin’ ethanol’

  • Sarah Palin made a swift exit from Donald Trump’s rally in Iowa Monday night after he was defeated by her old friend Ted Cruz
  • She did not speak to those in attendance at the rally and it is not clear if she would be joining Trump in New Hampshire
  • She went after U.S. Representative Steve King of Iowa earlier in the day said that Trump used his ‘assets and resources’ to woo her
  • Palin said that she had thought Rep. King was a friend and that he must be ‘huffin’ ethanol’ in a cornfield if he believes Trump bought her support
  • She also said she felt certain Trump would win on Monday afternoon ‘
  • ‘Usually, I say polls are only good for strippers and cross-country skiers, but in this case, I do think that the polls are accurate,’ said Palin

Sarah Palin might want to listen to her own advice.

In an interview with Extra on Monday afternoon the former governor of Alaska predicted a Donald Trump win in Iowa, but added; ‘Usually, I say polls are only good for strippers and cross-country skiers, but in this case, I do think the polls are accurate and are reflecting that the American people, the electorate … we’re looking for something different.’

However, those polls were not so accurate in the end.

Trump was defeated by Ted Cruz and finished in a tight race for second place, only narrowly edging out Marco Rubio despite polls which seemed to suggest he would be the clear winner in Monday’s caucus.

The normally loquacious Palin had little to say after Trump’s defeat, making a swift exit from his rally and not speaking to any of those in attendance according to multiple sources on the scene.

She took off over to her shouty page and posted the following:

Actually Sarah, Trump lost. That makes him a loser. You also and too hitched your grubby self to a loser and that makes you a loser too.

We’ll be waiting with bated breath for your words of congratulations for your dear friend Cruz on his victory in Iowa.

Well done to both Hillary and Bernie too.

Update: See comments for videos of Palin in Des Moines airport, still dressed in the same clothes that she arrived in.

First Sarah Palin endorsed Donald Trump at a time she had negative 11% favorables with the GOP.

Then she missed the first event of the day following her endorsement.

Then she blamed her son being involved in a domestic incident on Barack Obama’s treatment of veterans, turning off a lot of veterans in the process by suggesting those who came back from overseas were no longer able to control themselves and were not culpable for their actions.

Then she went to a Trump rally the day of the election with tons of undecided voters and started attacking Congressman Steve King, one of the most popular politicians in Iowa.

It was really an amazing spectacle. Sarah Palin then turning on Ted Cruz pretty rapidly and attacking him as unlikable, etc. was almost as pathetic as Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum showing up at Trump’s rally.

Sarah Palin did a huge favor for both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. She should really be thanked for leading the carnival barker wing of the party to Donald Trump.

What was so delicious about the Palin endorsement of Trump — for those of us who are contemptuous of the media adoration of Trump and the campaign of insults that Trump has run — is that Palin brought together many aspects of the freak show, reality-show campaign that Trump is running.

Palin is indeed telegenic, but as Trump learned the hard way in Iowa, too much television coverage can be a two-way street. The more saturated the airwaves became with the reality-television-show personality of Palin and the reality-television-show personality of Trump, the more saturated the airwaves became with the lightweight politics of Palin and the insult politics of Trump — and the more it all hurt Trump with Iowa voters.

For all us Bowie fans,Lady Gaga will do a tribute to him at the Grammys.
I watched her do tributes to Julie Andrews and Frank Sinatra and was blown away.
Like her or not,she brings it ALL when she hits the stage.

Sarah Palin turned on Trump already! She says it’s it’s his own damn fault for losing Iowa because he didn’t show his “conservative side”. I wonder if she’s going to try to flip back to Ted Cruz now.‘conservative-side’/ar-BBp2g6n?li=BBnb7Kz

“In fact, a lot of what Sarah Palin says sounds like it’s been poorly translated from the Latin. With her “he who” and “one who,” she’d sound almost Ciceronian if it weren’t for the holes in her logic and the way those complicated sentences sometimes dribble off into vaguely sinister, possibly offensive nonsense.”

Take a gander at the comments.
