The GOP has for a long time pandered to its base but has not come outright and said what their base really were thinking. Donald Trump on the other hand is not so reticent. This is what happened at the Trump rally last night.
Trump supporter shouts about a black protester “Light the motherfucker on fire!”
Evidently McKay Coppins was horrifed by what he saw at the Trump rally last night. Someone is going to get badly hurt or killed if Trump doesn’t put a stop to it.
Rush Limbaugh has now gone after Trump for a different reason. Courtesy of The NY Times:
Rush Limbaugh, the conservative radio host who defended Donald J. Trump’s proposal to bar Muslim immigrants, took issue with the real-estate developer on Monday for his attacks on Senator Ted Cruz of Texas as a “maniac” for how he has battled with the Republican Senate leadership.
“My questioning here about the way Trump has gone off Cruz here, calling him a maniac, refusing to work with people in the Senate, the reason I’m focusing on that, folks, ’cause that’s so unlike Trump. I mean, that’s a huge mistake,” Mr. Limbaugh said on his radio show on Monday, according to a transcript.
“On paper it’s a huge mistake. Trump gets away with his mistakes. Such is the bond of loyalty that his support base has for him that he gets away with them. And I don’t think he’s made that many. Don’t misunderstand,” Mr. Limbaugh said before adding: “But for any of you who are holding out hope that Trump is a genuine conservative. A genuine conservative, even in the Republican field, would not go after Cruz this way. So that just raised a red flag for me, made me somewhat curious.”
Things that make you go hmmmm…
Sarah Palin is of course busy with a “political crush” on far Right French politician Marion Marechal-Le Pen and big, big crushes on Cruz and Trump, the two most odious men running on the Republican bench.
For some unfathomable reason Jake Tapper interviewed her yesterday and this is what she had to say:
“I’m not going to pick one right now, but what a nice problem to have if it came down to Cruz and Trump,” Palin said. “That’s a good problem for voters to have, because we know that, as you say, they are both strong and very decisive and someone who would take the initiative. That is what we need today, and both of those candidates would fit that bill.”
Of course Palin isn’t going to pick anyone right now. She’ll wait and see which way the wind is blowing because she is a grifting coward. The debate tonight however could get interesting if Trump goes after Cruz. Cruz will have to respond if he doesn’t want to be perceived as weak But he doesn’t want to piss off Trump’s supporters, so he is in a bit of a bind!
The GOP really is in serious trouble. What the hell are they going to do? There will be a bloodbath if they don’t step in and do something.
