Cool Reception From The White House To Israeli Election. GOP However Is Orgasmic – One In The Eye For Their President

The White House has made clear its dismay at Binyamin Netanyahu’s sweeping victory in the Israeli elections with a stinging rebuke of the “divisive rhetoric” used by the Israeli leader in the closing stages of the election.

President Obama has not called to congratulate Netanyahu, who is now attempting to build a coalition between rightwing parties and his own Likud, which won decisively in parliamentary elections on Tuesday.

But the White House said it would be forced to re-evaluate its policy on the Middle East peace process after Netanyahu abandoned a prior commitment to an independent Palestinian state, apparently to shore up support among conservatives in Israel.

Obama’s press secretary, Josh Earnest, reaffirmed the president’s belief in the two-state solution, and strongly condemned Netanyahu’s decision to rally support with incendiary remarks about a high turnout among Israeli Arab voters. Netanyahu used a 28-second video on election day to warn that Israeli Arabs were being bussed to the polls “in droves”.

“The United States and this administration is deeply concerned about rhetoric that seeks to marginalise Arab Israeli citizens,” Earnest said. “It undermines the values and democratic ideals that have been important to our democracy and an important part of what binds the United States and Israel together.”

He added: “Rhetoric that seeks to marginalise one segment of their population is deeply concerning, it is divisive, and I can tell you that these are views the administration intends to communicate directly to the Israelis.”

Apparently John Kerry gave Netanyahu a brief call and President Obama will call when Netanyahu is directed by the Israeli president to form a government. Can you say that the relationship between the two men is not very good? Bibi has used racism and reneged on any attempt at a two state solution to win the election, but at what cost? Reading around today it is pretty obvious that most countries are not pleased at this latest development. They have been taken for a ride by Israel.

The only people who seem pleased are the Republicans.

5:44 P.M. Republicans congratulate Netanyahu on winning ‘in spite of Obama’

Several Republicans, among them some potential presidential contenders, congratulated Netanyahu on his election victory, MSNBC reported.

Sen. Ted Cruz called Netanyahu an “extraordinary leader,” adding that he won despite efforts by “Obama’s political team” to undermine him.

Jeb Bush congratulated Netanyahu over Twitter, saying he is a “true leader who will continue to keep Israel strong and secure.”

According to Rick Santorum, who also tweeted his congratulations, Netanyahu’s victory was not over Herzog, but over Obama: “It appears @Netanyahu overcame force of the Obama $ & staff. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem,” he tweeted. (Haaretz)

That is some very treasonous talk going on there. It is beyond disgusting.

And you just knew Palin was going to weigh in…

Congratulations, Prime Minister Netanyahu. Thank you to the good people of Israel for supporting a leader who will stand up and fight for all the free world while other leaders sit down. The Heartland of America will sleep better knowing Bibi remains the voice of reason and strength in the beautiful nation of Israel; for when Israel is safe, we are safe.

– Sarah Palin

Shut up you fuc_ing idiot.

The whole thing is just so depressing and enraging.

Is your god proud of you yet, Bibi? Or do you have to kill a few thousand more Palestinians to gain his favor? If you raze Gaza completely will your messiah finally appear?

The world doesn’t hate you because you are Jewish, they hate you because you do shit like this.

It is depressing, but in the long run, I think that Bibi will be the depressed one. Most of the world no longer trusts him, nor do we respect him. Only RW Israelis and treasonous gopers in America trust and respect him. I doubt this term will go well for him, and there will be another election ASAP. Hopefully the next election will have a better result, as the Israelis see how bad Bibi is for their country.

It’s interesting that the gopers praising Bibi’s “leadership” ignore how he got this victory – by lying and by race-baiting. That’s not leadership, at least not leading from a position of strength, but leading from a position of weakness.

Linda, your comment gave me some hope.

Lying and race baiting is the gop way to win elections, doncha know? Now Boner and a group of other traitors are flying to Israel to celebrate with Bibi, at taxpayer expense. If Adelson and Aipac stopped giving them $$$ they would have to find other gullible anti Obama foreigners to embrace. These clowns are a disgrace.

  3. Poor Sarah, if he hadn’t won she wouldn’t have been able to make it about Sarah. She must have been on tenterhooks for hours, nagging Bekki to hurry up and photoshop her pic.

Personally, I washed my hands of Israel in 2014. And I’m guessing a lot of Europeans have done, also too.

Doesn’t he realize the world is tired of war and if he wants to start one we don’t need to finance his follies. Time to cut off the money for guns and let them pay for their own free medical care. We have plenty of things to spend the money on here! Let Sarah, Andrea Mitchell and Adelson fund them!

I so agree with you. We’ve done enough (way too much) for the Israelis already. Let them take care of themselves for a change. Bibi is a crook. He will steal everything he can and blame it on someone else. Just like some Repubs here.
