I’m Baaaaack

Just spent a lovely few days in Nice, France. Hubby had to go there on business and I managed to tag along. We had to drag an unwilling 15 yr old daughter with us. Don’t get me started about the youth of today – why do they hate travelling with their parents? (I’m now wondering was it when we fell face down into the gutter, started a brawl in a pub or stabbed a homeless man). I jest. :)

When I was my daughter’s age, I would have given my eye teeth to travel. We didn’t have FB in my day, or computers or anything. Going out for a meal was something I didn’t do until I was in my twenties…Anyway, enough of the bitching. It fecking snowed in Nice on Monday and it was freezing. The weather improved after that and we took a stroll around the port area of Nice. Daughter was fascinated!!! She didn’t appreciate the museums, or contemporary art. A parent’s lot in life is to ensure their kids are bored to death.

I liked this picture.

Would you believe, I got a fecking gumboil the last few days. Luckily, we had done all the people watching and such. I had eaten loads of lovely food, but this fecking gumboil was not welcome…I could have eaten more.

I heard Sarah Palin went ballistic on twitter. Who gives a f*ck? The Pope resigned, and the Blade Runner from SA gunned down his girlfriend. What sort of a crazy world are we living in?

Welcome home! Beautiful photo!!!!!!!!!! Your daughter sounds like our kids at that age. Stabbed a homeless man, eh? We behaved ourselves! You must have really threatened 40Watt! :-) I’m sure you will catch up soon and have a ball checking out the Tundra Twit! Glad you are back.

I’ll just say that your daughter sounds just like any teen I’ve known- and attitude or not, she gets extra points for actually going with you!

Could you elaborate on the photo? It’s beautiful!- and what is it? :)

We got snow this afternoon, which normally thrills my daughter (just turned 17). However, she was looking forward to going to the Military Ball tonight at her high school. It has been postponed because of the snow.

When I was 14, my family took a road trip from our home in Arkansas to California. I totally frustrated my father by reading instead of watching out the windows.

  9. Good to have you safe home, Irishgirl, and thank you for bringing us a treat from your travels.
I’ve saved that souvenir in my Moment of Zen folder.

Littlebird and I survived her 15th year but it was Most, er, Challenging.
Jack is scarier than you or any 15 year old, eh?
    The Shining. Scariest. Movie. Ever.

Below freezing in the forest here in Florida this morning. No snow. Plenty of sunshine.
Blueberries, peaches, and pears all in full bloom; maybe they’ll make it.

Crazy times we’re living in, indeed.
