Brain Bleach After Philtrums

I felt sort of bad about dropping that picture of *The Grifter* on you all without a word of warning yesterday. ;)

Several of you were screaming for brain bleach. This is the best I could come up with.

Gorgeous photos aren’t they? Except they are not photos – they are pencil drawings!! The artist responsible is 27-year-old Kelvin Okafor, whose ‘photo-realistic’ pencil drawings have been steadily gathering critical acclaim since he graduated from Middlesex University in 2009.

This is theĀ  home page on his blog. Kelvin, I hope it is ok that I post this. It blew me away.

I inadvertently cropped a little of it. Go and visit his blog to see Oprah, Beyonce and many, many more wonderful drawings.

These are wonderful. What a talent! Thank you Irish!

  2. MrsGunka says:

Very, very talented! I didn’t see one graphite smug either. Thank you!

Looking at the pictures, the tattoo lady doesn’t have much of a philtrum but the artist and the young lady do. Tattoo lady does have very full lips. May have had some botox tho. The bleach isn’t working. I’ll be studying everyone’s face for quite a while! Geo Bush is really a classic, isn’t he! And little Tripp. Trig is text book Tri-G. Sarah has no idea the can of worms she opened, did she. You can fool some of the people, some of the time, but not smart bloggers. Eyes. Ears. Philtums.

That is Amy Winehouse, mrsg. She was a very talented singer with a beautiful voice. Well, I think so anyway. I have a couple of her CD’s. Sadly, she died in 2011 at the age of 27. :(

I’llbegotohelll! Thought she looked familiar. I need to get out more. She has a sad look in her eyes. Troubled soul?

      • irishgirl999 says:

Yes, I thought she had a beautiful voice too. She should have gone to rehab.

The woman in the third picture is Corrine Bailey Rae. She also has a wonderful voice.

    Wow!

I can’t fathom having this level of skill and patience. Fabulous!

    Yo Irishgirl!

Thank you so much for posting Corrine Bailey Rae’s video. I had heard her name before but had never listened to her sing. What a wonderful voice! Such an uplifting video. Great song. I will be researching/ordering this from Amazon.com.

Might be just me…..but I think this is the beauty of having friends across the globe….sharing some really cool things with each other.

I could see us hanging our heads out the window of non-smoking hotel, puffing away, while this song played in the background.

    Yep.
    Cheers!

She has a beautiful voice. I remember when she first came on the scene. I think she was nominated for a Grammy or 2 back then and wondered why she didn’t make a bigger splash in this country after that fab album. I hope we see more of her soon. Yet another velvety-voiced British chanteuse. :-)

Yo TW and CC…the next time we meet up, I’ll bring a recordng of CBR. We can let our hair down! The time we spent in France together was so special….thanks to Regina and Peter. I warn my kids about the internet, but I have made the most amazing friends on the googles.

Forty Watt, Uberduck and TitleWave, Ayershgirl and Bubbles and also too Memphis NY, Ripley….

I have met all of these special people…I will forever have these memories. I could have spent my money on improving my house but the memories are better.

    • CC ... says:

Dearest Irishgirl, I could not agree more. My time in France with you, TW and our kind, fab hosts, Peter and Regina, was very special and the lovely memories will last forever.
      Thank you, all of you!
I would love to hook up with you and the gang, let our hair down and listen to some CBR, Amy, etc… Ooh and can we mix in some Dusty in there also, too? Gotta warn you, though, I’ve been known to sing along so you’ll most likely be listening to duets!
CBR & CC, Amy & CC, Dusty & CC … Hahaha!
      Bisous!
CC–who is now looking at travel calendar :-)

I watched this guy’s documentary last weekend on Public TV. What an incredible story and wonderfully evocative art he produces! I encourage perusal of his works. http://www.hrm.org/exhibits/Rembert/rembert.html
