Actually, his time would be better spent going after the “Rape Crew.”
The reply from Anonymous…
I’m following KnightSec’s twitter account at the moment. It can be found here. He seems to believe that a photo found in Jim Park’s emails is of Savannah Dietrch. Savannah was also sexually assaulted while unconcious and her story is not unlike Jane Doe’s situation.
Mr. Parks is an avid fan of the Big Red High School football team, and is the webmaster and owner of a private fan site for the team. Knight Sec zeroed in on James Parks when intelligence from students in the high school revealed that he had an exceptionally close relationship with many of the players on the football team, including those members of “The Rape Crew.”
Also, there are rumours of coaches resigning on Monday. I think Anonymous has opened up a great big can of ugly worms!
Livestream of the protest can be found here.

This kind of corruption should always be exposed. Always! Those guys didn’t care about that girl, and neither do the adults involved w/them. No justice, no peace!
Amen!
They’re coming to take you away! ha ha
Thanks for covering this, Irishgirl.
Don’t any of the “adults” involved have daughters?
It seems that football and gambling are more important!
Typical Right-Wing money nuts. No conscience or morality.
Thank you for keeping up with this situation and publicizing it. I have not seen it anywhere else. I hope many people stumble across it because of you.
After hackers posted a video last week purportedly showing another young man joking about the accuser, police in Steubenville, Ohio, launched a website meant to stop misinformation about the rape case.

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — At a noon rally, 800 to 1000 protesters said they wanted justice for a 16-year-old West Virginia teenager who was the victim of an alleged rape in August.
Before the rally, Steubenville City Manager Cathy Davison hosted a news conference to announce a website called http://www.steubenvillefacts.org. Ms. Davison promised that city officials will update the website as new information becomes available.

She was drugged by all accounts…not drunk. This is important.
Interesting. I thought authorities claimed to have been aware of the video Anon released?

Timeline of the case
by Steubenville Facts
“-August 17, 2012. Steubenville Police request technical and investigative support from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation “BCI” (a state agency supervised by the Ohio Attorney General). At the request of Steubenville Police, BCI expedited the evidence analysis. The analysis involved uncovering and reviewing tens of thousands of emails, texts, and photos from approximately a dozen electronic devices. The vast majority of such data was unrelated to the case. Investigators and forensic examiners never found any video of the alleged crime.

I am horrified when I think that this nightmare is happening in just one small town in a big, big country, and also just happened to be video taped. What about all the other victims, in other towns, who haven’t been heard about? It makes me sick.
Good for you, Irishgirl, for keeping this alive.
Affects in other communities –
“Anonymous’ protests aren’t just impacting this case; in fact, because of the attention the Steubenville case has gotten, San Luis Obispo rape crisis agency in California has launched a “Start by Believing” campaign in order to promote the reporting of rape. Sexual Assault and Rape Prevention (SARP) Associate Executive Director Jesse Torrey explained, “If somebody discloses they’ve been sexually assaulted, you need to start by believing them. And if they are responded to with support, with validation, with ‘how can I help?’, with ‘this wasn’t your fault’…that’s the road to healing.”
Out of this horror, some salvation.
The Start by Believing campaign is a direct result of the Steubenville case. The SARP pointed out to Central Coast News, “(T)he Department Of Justice says only 36% of rapes are reported. Most go unreported for fear of shame or not being believed.”

I hope this does start a change in how rape is viewed and handled. Women, and men, have been sexually victimized for as long as humans have been on earth. It’s a horrible crime that has so many emotional complications that sometimes it just seems easier to the victims (and even those who love them) to just sweep it all under the carpet. We need to find better ways of not just protecting people in the first place, but make it easier to bring to justice those that commit such crimes.
Another complication for rape victims is evidence. It isn’t always a clear factor of proof or guilt. Without witnesses, the argument of whether or not it was consensual is one person’s word against another’s in too many situations. In theses days of ‘date rape drugs’, a victim may not even know they have been raped, or by whom.
“Most go unreported for fear of shame or not being believed.”
How many go unreported because the victim has no memory of what happened?
